Summer screams fun in the sun, and what would an outdoor party be without the drinks?

Now you can toast to the good life while celebrating after checking out the new Pirates of the Caribbean film that is now in theaters.

Released on May 26, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales has been blowing up the box office, earning $326 million worldwide and counting, making it the 20th best worldwide debut of all time.

And for those who didn’t catch it Memorial Day weekend, the talk among reviewers is that Dead Men Tell No Tales doesn’t disappoint.

So if the return of Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow has you all yo ho, yo ho a pirates life for me, then it’s time to make your next backyard bash pirate themed.

That means pouring some cocktails that your first mates will enjoy. Forget about being a mermaid, channeling your inner pirate is just so much more fun. Here are the pirate-themed cocktails inspirited by Dead Men Tell No Tales that was created by celebrity event planner Anthony Taccetta.

CAPTAIN JACK

Captain Jack

Ingredients:
Ice
1 1/2 ounces amber rum
1/2 ounce dark rum
1/2 ounce 151-proof rum
3/4 ounce fresh pineapple juice
3/4 ounce fresh lime juice
1/2 ounce Velvet Falernum
1/2 ounce simple brown sugar simple
Slice of pineapple, for garnish

FREE THE SPARROW

Free the Sparrow
Ingredients:
2 oz. dark rum
4 oz. pineapple juice
1 oz. orange juice
1 oz. sweetened coconut
1⁄2 oz. grenadine
ice cubes
Slice of orange and cherry, for garnish

 

BURIED TREASURE

Buried Treasure

Ingredients:
Ice
3 tablespoons fresh strawberry purée
1/2 tablespoon lime juice
1/3 – 1/2 cup pink champagne, Prosecco or other sparkling wine
Strawberries, blackberries, lime wedges and mint
Sprigs for garnish (optional)

How to make:
Pour over ice puree, lime juice, pink champagne to chill.  Place fruits (lime, blackberries and strawberries) in bottom of tall glass. Strain liquid into glass and garnish.

SHIPWRECKED (serves 6)

Shipwrecked

Ingredients:
1 pound frozen pineapple chunks
2 cups ice
6 ounces light rum
4 ounces freshly squeezed lime juice
3 ounces Simple Syrup
2 1/2 ounces dark rum

How to make:
Serve in coconut or Pineapple
Blend together in bowl.  For a glass, use half a hollowed-out coconut.
