You might never need a reason to pop the cork, but now that summer is around the corner, wine lovers might want to whip up a wine concoction that provides all the boozy goodness while keep you cool in the hot sun.

Look no further than this frosé recipe, an easy-to-make drink that will be your go-to all for all outdoor festivities.

What Is Frosé?

Frozen rosé, better known as frosé, is basically a wine slushie that is made with rosé, ice, strawberries and a few other ingredients. The cocktail first made a splash last summer, popping up all over Instagram and across the Internet.

And now that the weather is about to heat up, now is the perfect time to serve this delicious drink when gathering with family and friends for some weekend fun.

I served this frozen drink at a barbecue I hosted on Saturday to kick off the (unofficial) start of the summer, Memorial Day weekend. And it was really a refreshing drink to sip on while running around making sure everyone had food, drinks and lots of fun.

Even though we all moved on to other drinks like just plain wine for the evening, I could definitely see myself making frosé again this summer.

Here’s what you need:

Ingredients

ingredients 2

  • 1 bottle of rosé
  • 1/4 cup of vodka
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries sliced
  • 1 tbsp. of sugar
  • 2 tbsp. of grenadine
  • 2 ice cube trays

How to make frosé

The key is to start this drink recipe overnight by pouring the rosé into the ice cube trays to freeze. Two trays made just about 4 servings, so I would also suggest doubling up if you don’t want to wait the next day to freeze another batch.

moscato and ice

When ready to serve, add 2 cups of fresh strawberries into a blender with 1 tbsp. of sugar and let that sit for a few minutes. Then stir well.

Add rosé ice cubes, the grenadine and the vodka, and then blend away.

blender

Serve in wine glasses or mason jar cups like I chose to do, and garnish with a strawberry.

Enjoy!
