After Texas health officials found a possible listeria contamination in Target Archer Farms Traditional Hummus, food manufacturer Lansal has recalled approximately 14,860 pounds of hummus. As of now, no illness have been reported, but those who purchased the hummus should return the item immediately.

Symptoms of listeria include fever, headaches, and abdominal pain, but could cause a serious bacterial infection or even death in the young, elderly, and those with weak immune systems.

Trader Joe’s 5 Layered Dip Edamame Hummus is on the list, as well as Giant Eagle Chipotle Hummus, although there is not a national threat. Target Archer Farms hummus varieties are the only kind on the list that have affected all states.  See the full list of recalled hummus issued by the FDA here.
